Lust: A Blood Moon Rising Companion Novella, Takes Place During the Same Timeframe as Book 2 in the Main Series
Can love be born from hatred?
A little about Lust:
A WOLF WHO HAS SPENT HIS LIFE IN THE SHADOWS OF HIS PAST…
Beta werewolf—and ex–bounty hunter—Shadow knew when his Alpha commanded—er, “politely growled”—for him to attend the werewolf summit, that it was going to royally suck. Not only does he not want to fool around with all that royal werewolf bullshit, but he also knows he’s not exactly everybody’s favorite guy. Considering he ruined a lot of those werewolves’ lives in his old profession, he’ll be lucky if he can survive the weekend. Not to mention his mating Fever is driving him insane—and so is the feisty Alpha female he’s Marked as his mate.
A QUEEN OF WOLVES WHOSE REIGN IS THREATENED…
Spirited Breanna Whiteclaw is barely holding it together. With an ornery Alpha named Strider out to make her—and her pack —his own, and with her pack recovering from recent attacks by an unknown enemy, she has her paws full. Attending the summit means leaving her pack in their time of need, but as a royal werewolf, she knows she has no choice. Add to that the fact that her Blood Moon is approaching, and she has yet to find a mate—until the devilishly handsome Shadow Marks her as his own.
CAN LOVE BE BORN FROM HATRED?
Shadow never intended to go through with the mating ceremony—especially with the daughter of a man he killed. But his Fever has other plans. The more he’s around her, the more he craves her touch, longs to hear her voice, and aches to claim her.
From the moment Shadow’s Mark formed on her hand, Breanna knew her mate-bond was destined for failure. The bounty hunter responsible for her father’s death is the last wolf on this earth she could ever bind herself to forever. But if she wants to remain Alpha and save her pack, she might not have a choice. As Strider closes in on her, she finds herself relying on Shadow’s quiet strength—and craving those rough hands all over her curves.

A sneak peek between the page of Lust:
Shadow felt her
watching him before he saw her.
His eyes
followed his senses, locking onto a tall raven-haired woman with olive skin.
Her eyes were slanted and deep brown, her brows thick and black, her lips full.
Her features made her look like an Indian princess. Tribal tattoos of black ink
covered her biceps and wrists in bands. The simplicity of her inky dress
complimented the turquoise stones dangling from her ears. She was radiant.
And pissed as
hell as she stormed over to him.
He raked his
brain, trying to figure out who this woman was.
“How dare you
show your face here, murderer!” she screeched, getting right in his face. Anger
seethed from every pore in her lovely, toned body. Not that he was looking.
Eyes upward,
mate.
He didn’t flinch
at the flung insult. He’d been called worse.
Drake stepped up
to stand beside him. “Breanna,” he said smoothly, ever the diplomat. “I see
you’ve met my new head of security, Sh—”
“I know who he
is,” she spat, still glaring at him. “He’s the man who murdered my father.”
Stunned silence
followed the statement. It was the first time Shadow had seen Drake struck
speechless. A crowd had gathered around them as people pretended to be chatting
but were secretly listening to the fight.
Freaking
rubberneckers.
Drake at last
shook his head and cleared his throat. “I’m sorry, you must be mistaken.”
“No,” Breanna
said coldly, holding Shadow’s gaze. The burning fire in her eyes only made her
more attractive. Breanna… Breanna… why couldn’t he remember who she was?
“I’ll never forget the face of the man who killed Bear Whiteclaw.”
Bear White… Oh
fuck.
This was his
daughter? Shadow remembered seeing her at his trial, giving a passionate
testimony that nearly had the jury ruling in favor of killing his ass. He
hadn’t recognized her. She’d changed in the years since they’d met. She’d grown
more into a woman.
A harder, colder
version of the tearful pup mourning over her father, a man who deserved to rot
in hell for the crimes he’d committed against mankind and paranormals alike.
Killing Bear Whiteclaw had been doing the world a favor. Instead, it had earned
him the scorn of a lot of people, including the fiery female in front of him.
Words of apology
dried up in his mouth. How did you say you were sorry for something like that?
“Miss, I—”
“What? You’re
sorry? Don’t you dare lie to me, you son of a bitch.” Her dainty hands formed
fists, which trembled at her sides. Blood dribbled between her fingers,
dripping to the floor. Her claws must have come out. He’d bet his retirement
she was itching to tear his face off. She’d probably smile while doing it.
A tall blond man
who looked as if he could bench press a bus walked up to Breanna and whispered
something in her ear. The tension eased out of her, but only slightly.
She stepped up
to Shadow, her lips brushing his cheek and making him shiver.
“If it’s the
last thing I do,” she whispered, “I’ll kill you.”
In one fluid
motion, she was gone. He watched her walk away, his body too wired from the
heat burning through him.
A fire that had
blazed to life the second her lips had caressed his skin with the threat of
death.

About the Author:
“Lola Taylor” is a pen name created for the romances I can’t show my grandma without blushing. My favorite genre to write is romantic suspense, usually involving hot werewolves, warlocks, or any other type of paranormal creature. Keep the action hot and the romance hotter—that’s my motto! I’m a horror film junkie, I still love Halloween as an adult (seriously, I think I get more excited for it than some kids do), and what precious spare time I have is spent with my family, reading (everything from sci fi to middle grade), playing the flute, painting pretty pictures, or screwing around on Pinterest or Etsy. Hailing from the South, I currently live in the Midwest with five fur babies and my hubby.

Cover Reveal – Charm Me Again by Tena Stetler

Happy Friday Everyone! I am so excited to reveal the cover for my latest book, a paranormal romance/mystery, CHARM ME AGAIN. Okay, I admit it, Amazon beat me to the reveal. Darn it.  Release date is December 9, 2019. Swoon-worthy don’t you think?

Pull up a chair, grab a drink of your choice from the cooler, a Chocolate Chip or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and I’ll tell you a little about CHARM ME AGAIN.  Psst.. it’s the sequel to CHARM ME (a novella published in 2016). I can’t seem to finished a tale under 90,000 words. the novella CHARM ME was barely under 20,000 and the characters were no where near done telling their tales. SO….CHARM ME AGAIN was born. I know you are going to love it!

Daylan, a warlock, is being haunted, but what the ghost wants is a mystery. His magical powers bring him no closer to an answer—until he encounters Josie, a Yoga instructor.

But when she is kidnapped by an ancient Fae Warrior set on revenge Daylan must rescue her before the rogue claims her as his own. During his quest, his world spirals out of control, and a devastating curse comes to light. Could the ghost hold the answers he needs?

Can he break the age-old curse to save Josie and their future, or will Daylan lose her forever?

A sneak peek between the pages of CHARM ME AGAIN.

Suddenly, the wind changed direction, a thin maroon line formed along the flat bottom of the dark clouds spreading across the sky where moments before there’d been only a few fluffy cotton ball clouds in a sea of blue. The maroon line widened then switched to vertical and spread open to reveal a shimmering interior.

Shadows emerged from the cloud then disappeared. As he was about to comment, huge raindrops plopped on the ground followed by pea size hail that grew to softball size.

Josie ran for cover and he followed. Protected under a ledge, she cupped her hands over her ears as the roaring of the storm combined with huge ice balls smashing against rocks echoed through the canyon. She elbowed him and cocked a brow in question, pointing to the vegetation that remained unharmed.

His eyes narrowed. Something isn’t right. I can feel it. Magic is spinning this storm. But who—how and why? At a loss for answers, he shrugged and urged her further under the ledge to wait out the storm. Brushing the wet strands of hair out of her face, he smiled. She looked like a drowned rat but the fragrance around her reminded him of sweet spring flowers. He leaned into to her and brushed his lips over hers. Immediately, he straightened and backed away. Her eyes were still closed. Maybe I could’ve lingered…

Her eyes blinked open and she licked her lips. After a beat, she waggled a finger in front of him. “Not a good idea.”

Kendra Spark Novels by S. Peters-Davis

Give a warm welcome to S. Peters-Davis author of Kendra Spark Novels. Pull up a chair, grab a drink of your choice from the cauldron. Take your choice of a bat wing Chocolate Chip or Pumpkin, or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and let’s find out a little about S. Peters-Davis and Kendra Sparks Novels Unorthodox,  Malevolent, and Albatross.
All Hallows’ Eve Silent Night
By S. Peters-Davis

“I gotta make a quick trip to the restroom. Can I use the flashlight?” I asked, glancing at Rory as he tilted his head. “Oops.” We’d made a pact not to talk, experience the night of stargazing with each other in silence.
Rory handed me the flashlight. “Remember, no talking when you come out. Sasha?”
“Got it.” I nodded, grabbed the flashlight, and then rushed into the dimly lit park restroom. Rory and I had come to the Haggerset Lake Park for the last four years to stargaze on Halloween night, ever since we’d graduated high school. We loved our creep-night, the one night we dropped whatever we were doing and wherever we were to come back to each other on this one night.
A rustle outside, like something heavy falling on the ground, startled me. I hurried with my business and ran out to check on Rory. He stood waiting for me. I slid the light beam his way, and he smiled, pointing toward the ground.
I didn’t say a word at the blanket and cooler strewn over the dewy grass, assuming he’d tripped over something. We both picked up the stuff and headed down the hill away from the tree line to the beach by the lake. The perfect place to lay for an open view of the star-ridden sky.
We spread the blanket and sat. I dropped the flashlight on the blanket, and then pulled the wine and glasses from the cooler. Rory grabbed my hand so I looked at him. He shook his head. I set the bottle next to me, thinking we’d open it later.
He stretched out on the blanket and patted the spot next to him. The moon cast enough light to see his shadowed face and body. I bent down, knees on the blanket, and then flipped to my backside, sliding close to him. His hand found mine and our fingers intertwined.
A spike of electricity charged through me, like what always happened when Rory touched me. I missed him during the long months we’d attended separate colleges, and this would be our last semester apart.
His breath sucked in as he pointed upward. A falling star streaked across the sky.
I gasped, but remained silent as per our pact. An owl hooted in a tree on top of the hill. Crickets set a rhythm, adding to the croaking bull frogs all around us. I adored the sounds and smells of the night, just like Rory had admitted the first time we’d done this.
He squeezed my fingers, raised my hand to his warm moist lips, and kissed my palm. His tongue slithered up and down my wrist, making me giggle. Then his lips attached to my skin and he sucked. My whole insides melted and fluttered at the same time. I panted, wanting more.
His body flipped over mine, his moist lips kissing, nipping, and sucking over my neck. Every cell in my body responded, zinging sparks spiked through my veins. His tongue slathered my skin. My eyelids closed on automatic.
“Sasha!” Rory? His voice came from on top of the hill.
I opened my eyes wide and pushed against the body on top of me. He sat on top of me and covered my mouth with his hand, his other hand held both of mine above my head. The skin on his face shimmered and blurred. He leaned over me, close to my face. A thin forked tongue slithered from his mouth, licking my face.
“Sasha, are you there?” Rory shouted again from a distance.
I bucked, but to no avail. The thing’s skin turned to scales, his eyes…glowed amber, their pupils narrowed into slits like a snake. Fins grew along his forearms.
I fought, hard, struggling to free a hand and bucking to throw him off. My hand came free and I reached for the wine bottle.
Footfalls pounded down the hill, the monster glanced up. I wrapped my fingers around the neck of the wine bottle and swung. The monster’s head snapped sideways and his body fell from on top of me.
Rory stood over us. “My gods, what the hell is that thing? It attacked me and I woke up in the middle of the woods, afraid of what that thing had done to you.” He gave me a hand up.
A rancid odor burst through the air and the creature’s body sizzled, like brats on a grill.
We stepped back as it turned into bright embers and then dust. Rory pulled me into his arms as the night breeze carried the smoky particles over the water.
“That thing looked just like you. It licked me.” I yanked the bottom of my T-shirt up to wipe my face and neck.
“You couldn’t tell that thing wasn’t me?”
“It never kissed me on the lips.” And I couldn’t help but wonder what it had planned on doing with me. “What do you think its end game was with me?”
Rory took a knee and extracted a small box from his shirt pocket. “Not this.” He turned so the moonlight shone on the box and then flipped it open. A diamond sparkled. His gaze melded into mine as he asked, “Sasha, monster-slayer of All Hallow’s Eve, will you marry me?” He grinned, and then added, “Before some scary creature sweeps you off your feet?”

My Review of Unorthodox:

Kendra Spark, suspense-mystery romance author sees and hears ghosts. She is requested to hop on the first flight to D.C., to help her estranged best-friend Jenna Powers, FBI criminal analyst. Jenna gets ghosticized in a fatal accident before relaying all the details of the FBI killer case. Derek Knight, a dedicated FBI Special Task Force agent takes lead on the case. Someone is out for revenge, but who and why? Questions Derek and Kendra must answer to stop the rising body count.

What a fresh approach to catching murderers. It’s a hoot to watch ghost Jenna gather information and share that info with Kendra who in turn tells the FBI. There’s no reason she’d know these facts. Not to mention the information gleaned from the murder victims before they go into the light. How that works makes for a fun, fast-moving, and exciting novel that I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s just the right mix of action, intrigue, and budding romance to keep you turning pages. Unorthodox is book one in the series, Malevolent, and Albatross are book 2 and 3 respectively. I look forward to reading Malevolent and Albatross in the very near future.  Highly recommended for those who love a fun, light murder mystery (Yes, a murder mystery can be fun and light in case you were wondering).

As a half-demon paranormal bounty hunter, Gisele is used to flirting with death, but stealing a curio and opening a portal to Hell’s demon court is more than your average day job.

Now, she’s partnered with an infuriatingly handsome demon, Shade, who has more levels of grey than she can count.

Who can she trust to help save the city as Baltimore burns to the ground and ghouls roam the streets?

With a white-hot attraction burning between them and secrets blocking their path, Gisele must face her past and venture into the twisted heart of the demon royal court.

But with no memory of her past…

…will she be able to save their future?

Read an Excerpt

A jumble of computer equipment and business supplies littered the office floor. Orange, blue, and manila folders spilled from an overturned metal cabinet. And in the shadows, Shade sat slumped in her green swivel chair, the hundred-page contract in his hands. He’d torn half of the place and the whole of her desk apart. He’d rummaged through her files, knocked over her pen and paperclip jars, and ripped the bottom right drawer out completely, dropping it on the floor. It was the drawer she kept locked—the drawer she’d left the contract in.

Clearly, it was what he’d been searching for.

“Real mature,” she said, irritated with his reckless, temperamental violence and his blatant disregard for her privacy. “Find what you were looking for?”

No doubt he planned to tattle on her to their boss. Her contract aside, the grimgolem was going to blow a gasket when he accounted for the damage to their computers alone.

“I hope it was worth it for you,” she continued, “because I am not cleaning this up.”

Rather than glare at her, he looked away. His brows drew together, lips pressing a tight line. “It wasn’t supposed to happen this way,” he said, voice raw. “They’ve tricked me.”

“Who has?” Gisele asked, but he ignored her.

The muscles in his arms corded as he gripped the contract tighter, crinkling the thick stack of pages, and she knew who he meant. He really was working with them—the elghoul and its master. For them. Working against her.

Son of a gun.

She chucked a stapler at him hard enough to bruise his chest, then crossed the room, closing the distance until she could have yanked him up by the collar of his soiled, bloody shirt. Instead, she smacked her hand on the desktop. Wood splintered.

“The woman in this contract? Who is she?”

“I can’t tell you that,” he answered, not even looking at her. Not even now. He sounded so defeated. “They’re going to kill you, and they’re going to use me to do it.”

“But why?”

“Because they’re cruel.” Bitterness swirled in his voice. “Because they can.”

And if they demanded it of him, he’d do it, just like that? What kind of a cold-blooded monster was he?

“Are you going to?” she asked, dreading his answer. “Going to rip me apart with your claws? Tear my throat out?”

The image of him, darkly winged and terrifying in the Office of the Paranormal, came crawling back, unwanted.

“Would you really do it?” she asked. It hurt, but she needed to hear him say it. “What happened to ‘I’ll protect you, so you don’t have to be afraid’?”

His little declaration hadn’t even lasted four hours.

“I won’t have a choice.”
