Krista Winter is in need of legal counsel. Several years ago, she was forced to flee her life as a teacher in New Jersey after being shunned for practicing witchcraft, and her past is about to catch up with her.

It never crossed her mind he’d be so good looking and oozing with sex appeal. She’d pictured an older, average looking man, not the person who stood in front of her. Where has he been hiding? Krista zeroed in on his wide shoulders and the girth of his chest. It was as if the sky broke open and delivered her dream man in a pretty package. She nearly forgot why she came in the first place. Krista tried to focus and remain professional. She stood and fumbled with the strap on her purse. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Winter.” His deep and welcoming tone helped calm the tension that traveled through her body. He reached out and shook hand, his touch gentle, and a powerful, magnetic surge hit her hard, zipping all the way down to her feet. “Please, make yourself comfortable,” he said in a pleasant, yet authoritative manner, and pointed to a beautifully carved chair with a burgundy upholstered seat. With a confident stride, he made his way behind the massive desk and sat. He caught her gaze and smiled. Her heart thumped as she followed his lead. Settled in front of him, Krista cleared her throat and bit the side of her lip. Grandma Angie had taught her how to tell if a man was attracted to her. Late night chats about how she met her grandfather and words of wisdom from a loving relationship stayed in her memory, and she kept that advice close to her heart. There was no denying her attraction to the handsome lawyer, and it was strong. Fear of failure had ruled Krista’s heart since the breakup.

Inside the house, a shadow passed by the huge bay window. She held her breath. Am I really going to go through with this?
Walking up the steps to the house, she paused. Why would he leave such an expensive car sitting out when he had a four-car garage? She was stalling. Straightening her shoulder’s she used the brass doorknocker. There was no answer. She knocked again.
The heavy oak door creaked open. Tristian stood shirtless, his abs rippled as he raised one muscular arm to lean on the doorframe. The skintight blue jeans hung low on his hips and his hair tousled as if he’d not been awake long.
When he stared at her, with those huge blue-gray eyes, tingles careened up her spine. She covered her mouth in case drool pooled in the corners her mouth. He was one sexy male. She sucked in a breath and opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. A brow arched, he peered questioningly at her then twisted to glance backward into the house. The sunlight streaming through the doorway accentuated several scars across his chest, rib area and a healed slash across his back. Who gets those kinds of battle scars and lives to tell the tale? Not going to ask. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea after all.
The corner of his mouth curved up in an inviting sexy-as-hell grin. “Good morning, Hannah. What a surprise.”

“What the hell are you doing here, and what have you done to my dog,” Pepper shouted flinging the log to the ground and yanking her cell phone out of her pocket, tapping in 9-1-1, she left the line open.
She circled her arm above her head and the wind picked up, spreading her fingers wide the rain came down in sheets, lightning streaked through the night sky and thunder shook the ground. The dog glanced up at Pepper, blood clouding its eye, barked once and barreled into the woods. Mr. Green started to get up off the ground and Pepper shoved her foot on top his chest. “Don’t move. Or I’ll…”
“You’ll what?” Mr. Green rolled to the side, and grabbed Pepper’s leg. Slick due to the rain, he couldn’t hold on and Pepper kicked his side and jumped out of reach.
She sliced her arm through the air, unseen forces slammed Mr. Green to the ground, his eyes glowed an eerie green. Pain erupted in Pepper’s head, he was drawing on her magic. Suddenly, a rainbow shower of knife-sharp feathers flew out of the cabin door, across the air, slicing through the man’s clothes pinning him to the ground until red and blue flashing lights reflected against the cabin’s wet exterior. The sirens’ wail echoed all around her, Kaylee’s scream broke though the chaos, then everything went black.
Lathen slammed on the brakes as he turned into the driveway behind the police vehicle. A rainbow of feathers rose from the ground and streaked into the cabin. He rubbed his eyes, shook his head and jumped to the ground searching for Pepper. The call came in at the police station as he’d finished the wiring and was testing the computers. A 9-1-1 call, no one at the other end and an open line from the McKay place. When he arrived, she was lying on the ground and Kaylee circling above her screeching. As he knelt over her, she bolted upright.

A Kelly Society Christmas – Review & Interview

I observed that many authors of book series include holiday novellas in between their full-length books. So, I wanted to join in the fun! Since my favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas, I started with a Christmas novella for Vivien Kelly and her soulmate Neal. I also saw the movie Krampus directed by Peter Jackson (Lord of The Rings) and it was awesome! Also, the film was very scary. So, I kept the creepiness of Krampus, but also threw in humor, romance, and Christmas shenanigans!
What’s A Kelly Society Christmas all about?
After killing a demon and saving the modern world, paranormal cleanser Vivien Kelly only has three days till Christmas. She scrambles to buy gifts, grocery shop for holiday feasts, and get a Christmas tree. She’s on track when suddenly, her young friend Josh calls the wrath of Krampus, the Christmas demon.
Can Vivien buy gifts, cook Christmas dinner, decorate the tree, and also save Josh before Krampus drags him to an eternal hell? Vivien must call upon the most frightening goddess of all for help—Hel, goddess of the underworld.
My thoughts on A KELLY SOCIETY CHRISTMAS!
A Kelly Society Christmas by S.K. Andrews is a paranormal holiday story. It is part of a series, but it can be a stand-alone as well. Vivien Kelly is a paranormal cleanser. She had just defeated one bad demon and was trying prepare for Christmas when she discovered yet another demon to fight. Her friend, Josh, accidentally summoned the demon Krampus. Krampus takes bad children to Hell. Vivien, her soul mate, a few friends, and the demon Hel fight Krampus to save Josh while getting ready for the holiday season. There are twists and turns and a bit foreshadowing that there might be more in this series. Yippee!
I’ve read and enjoyed all of S.K. Anders books. A Kelly Society Christmas was a fun Christmasy feel story. The characters were well rounded. Hel has a few unique surprises. S.K. Andrews writing and world-building makes you experience the story through the wonderful characters. I love Christmas stories and will read it again during the holidays. LOL The story is a quick read.. If you love paranormal tales you’ll enjoy this Christmas read. I highly recommend A Kelly Society Christmas. Regardless of the time of year, the book will definitely conjure the Christmas spirit.

Vivien picked up her petticoats with one hand, clung to her songbook with the other, and ran. “Josh, Brian, come with us! We have to stay together!” she called over her shoulder.
Neal held onto his top hat and ran alongside Vivien.
A group of four millennials whipped their heads around and started following Krampus, Vivien, and Neal.
“Wow! This show is dope!”
“Don’t you know who that is?” The red-haired woman in their group pointed her finger. “That’s Krampus! My cousin went to the Krampusnacht Festival in Austria last year. He’s the opposite of Santa Claus. He’s a Christmas demon who punishes naughty children!”
“Let’s go!”
“Yeah, let’s check it out!”
They crossed the street with hollers and laughter.
To her horror, Vivien glanced back to see a mass of individuals pacing behind them in the middle of the road. The caroling team, Christmas shoppers, and random folks holding coffee cups moved in to see what would happen.
