A Witch’s Holiday Wedding – Holiday 99¢ Sale

You can have a seat and grab an insulated mug. I’ve got hot chocolate, hot cider, and coffee. Choose your pot; they’re labeled. Pick your choice of a Snicker-doodle, Chocolate Chip, or Peanut butter cookie from the plate. Yep, I baked them myself. Let’s see what A WITCH’S HOLIDAY WEDDING has in store for us. An exciting, fun, holiday tale about a couple torn in too many directions, with a covert military mission thrown in, will Pepper and Lathen make it to the alter?
Lets see what A WITCH’S HOLIDAY WEDDING is all about?
Elemental witch, Pepper McKay and former Navy SEAL, Lathen Quartz have built Lobster Cove Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center on enchanted McKay land. During a romantic interlude on Halloween night, Pepper happily agrees to become Lathen’s wife. What better day than Winter Solstice for their wedding in a town that loves celebrations and Christmas. However, planning a wedding and operating their wildlife center takes a toll on both Pepper and Lathen.
When the couple takes a much-needed break for Thanksgiving with family in Colorado, a Maine snowstorm fills the center with injured wildlife. Lathen finds himself drawn into a covert military mission, while trying to deal with issues concerning friends and family. Pepper wants to cancel the wedding. Is she having second thoughts? Will the nosy McKay ghosts, Lathen’s werewolf pack, Pepper’s parents, and her best friend help or hinder the wedding and holiday plans?
A sneak peek between the pages of A WITCH’S HOLIDAY WEDDING:
After she set her glass down, Lathen brushed a couple strands of hair out of her eyes and searched her face. “Are you all right?”
“I’m tired, my wedding is in a couple weeks, I have ghosts fighting over who is going to do what. Guests that have no idea the place is haunted and… Your family and pack, my parents, Gwen… To top it all off, the head of my clan, who is a ghost, is sitting in front of me wanting to know who is coming to the wedding and whether the ghosts will be outed. How could I possibly be all right?”
“When you put it that way.” Lathen chuckled. “It sounds just a bit… I don’t know…crazy?” His right eyebrow winged up. She saw mischief sparkle in his eyes. “We could still elope,” he offered.
“No sir. Not after all the trouble—Not on me watch.” Aidan shook his head so vehemently his upper torso blurred.
Pepper smiled, glanced at Lathen. “What do you think—about twenty-five to fifty close friends and family at the ceremony?”
“I doubt the pack will be there, they’ll be more interested in the food and tall-tale telling at the reception. Not to mention questioning why the dinner wasn’t before the ceremony. So you are close on that count.” He snatched the wine glass from the table and took a gulp.
“The seating area should be at the end of the pond by the benches. Ashling mentioned purple rose bushes around the pond. Lathen and I are going to get the arbor first thing in the morning, weather permitting.”
Lathen’s stomach gurgled. “You know the timer for the meat pies went off a while ago.” He glanced toward the kitchen. “Want me to go get them?”
“Oh crap, I forgot. They’ll be ruined, all dried out.” She thought for a moment then waved her hand toward the kitchen. “They’ll be fine.”
“I’ve got what’s needed.” Aidan rose from the chair, lifted his hand in a wave and faded away, the mist crawling along the floor disappeared entirely.
“Never a dull moment around here.” Lathen took the tray of pies from Pepper and set it on the coffee table. The silverware clattered as he slipped the napkins out from under them, inhaling deeply. “I’m starved.”
“Marrying a McKay witch may be more than you bargained for,” she teased. “Too late to change your mind.”
“Don’t intend to.” He forked up a bite of meat pie, blew on it for a minute as the steam rose, and popped it in his mouth. “Mmmmm. Delicious! Life with a witch can be quite satisfying. If you know what I mean.” He wiggled his eyebrows.

Thankful Author
I have to say this year has been difficult from beginning to end. But when I sit down and think about it, I have many things to be thankful for. Still have lingering effect from COVID, we survived but left me with a serious hip problem. October 5, 2022, had a total hip replacement, which fixed the problem and I look forward to hiking and biking this summer. So I’m thankful! My wonderful readers are fantastic and I am so thankful for them. I sincerely hope my tales of paranormal creatures sweep them away from their ordinary world into a magical, romantic fantasy adventure or mystery if only for a few hours. We all need fantasy these days. Don’t you agree?
After two looong years, I finally was able to attend a book signing at the Colorado Country Christmas Craft Fair. What fun. While space was limited, met lots of readers, sold and signed lots of books. Yippee!! What a blast! Hope to be able to do more in 2023. Fingers crossed
Eight years and seventeen books later, I still wake up and pinch myself every morning, thankful to be living my dream of being published. A dream made possible by my supportive, extraordinary husband of many moons and The Wild Rose Press my amazing publisher. My editor, Lill, well, let’s just say…SHE ROCKS! I’m so thankful for her patience and understanding. (Discovering new and creative ways to screw up seems to be my specialty.) Yep, my face turns bright red every time I think about it. Oh, yeah, and I’m thankful for the helpful, supportive authors of The Wild Rose Press authors! They’re always willing to lend a hand.
When my characters run amuck, the story plot flows in ten different directions and none of them what I had in mind AND a deadline looms. (Yeah, I know you plotters never have that happen, but us pansters… well just saying.) Three little words, “You’ve got this” are music to my ears from my family and friends. I am eternally thankful for their encouragement and support.
I am thankful for the unconditional love of my chow dog, Mystic; spoiled parrot, Taco; and box turtle, Sammie. No matter how bad I feel or goof up, in their eyes, I’m darn near perfect. And I’m certainly not going to tell them any different!
Finally, a day never passes without my thanks to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces whose dedication keeps our great nation free. (I know you’ve heard me say this before, but I can’t help it. Comes from living in a military town all my life & marrying a soldier.) We are one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. You may not agree with me, but that’s what is great about this nation. You don’t have to. I’m entitled to my own opinion, as are you. I can write books on any topic I choose without fear of a midnight knock on my door or being carted away. Unless of course my characters come to life, then we’re all in trouble. <Giggle>
While I have a lot more to be thankful for such as a roof over my head — About the roof over my head, I’m still waiting for a self-cleaning house. LOL I am so enjoying my kitchen remodel we muddled through last January. New granite counter tops, chef’s sink, flooring, and cupboards.
Love it!! I’m thankful to have enough to eat and clothes on my back. Having listed the biggies, I wish you all love, laughter and Happy Thanksgiving!
After the big dinner is done and you sit down to relax, I have a suggestion. MERINGUE SNOWFLAKE MAGIC! A heart warming holiday tale, with twist and turns you won’t see coming.
What’s MERINGUE SNOWFLAKE MAGIC about you ask?

Holidays and your Pets

That adult beverage, don’t put it down where your pets have access to it. Alcohol and liquor-n fulsed desserts can result in seizures, respiratory distress, and incoordination. Caffeine can cause hyperactivity, siezures, and muscle twitching.
Candy and sweets can be toxic to pets, especially chocolate and anything with sugar substitute. Watch for omitting, diarrhea, weakness, and seizures.
Watch those leftovers! Smell heavenly to our pets, but bones can easily splinter or become lodged in throat or esophagus. Don’t let a medical emergency or possibly death spoil your holidays.
Fruits and veggies are great for us, but not so much our beloved pets. Did you know that citrus peel and fruit seeds contain citric acid and oils that cause irritation and difficulty breathing?
Grapes and raisins, even in small amounts can cause kidney failure it canines. Onions, garlic, shallot and chives can damage red blood cells and cause serious medical distress.
Baby its Cold Outside! Share shoveling duties with your pup? I know they are not much help, but spending time with you is the best. If you’re cold, chances are your pets are too. Don’t leave them outside. When your pet returns from the outside, with a clean towel be sure to wipe off their legs and stomach to get all the ice, snow and even salt of them.
Keep all holiday (poinsettia, mistletoe & holly) and even everyday plants such as jade, amaryllis, aloe vera, philodendron, begonia, snake plat, lily varieties (east, tiger, calla, peace, and day lilies) and pothos away from your pets. These plants are dangerous and must be kept out of reach of your pets.
One last thing, wiring, glass bulbs, and candles, keep out of reach of your pets to avoid burns and shocks.
Keep your holidays merry for all!

For several months a Scottish Highland Ghost has haunted Daylan, in his personal life, his professional life and at his forge. Yet, being a talented warlock, he is no closer to discovering what the ghost wants or why he chose Daylan. A trip to his estranged sister’s home in Colorado may have unforeseen consequences especially when family history leads him to a shocking discovery.
As his attraction blooms for Josie, a yoga instructor in his sister’s studio, he realizes there may be more to Josie than he can imagine. When an ancient rogue Fae Warrior set on revenge kidnaps her in an attempt to claim her as his own, a devastating curse comes to light.
Daylan’s world spirals out of control as he searches for Josie. Can he break the age old curse to save her and their future, or will she be lost to him forever?
A peek between the pages of Charm Me Again.
She padded over to the window and opened it a crack. The fresh air on her skin was cool. It relieved the smothering feeling that came over her the minute Daylan left the room. Taking a cleansing breath, she braced her hands against the window frame and took another deep calming breath.
Moonlight flooded inside with a light breeze. There it was again, that pull. Something was drawing her outside. Warning bells went off inside her head. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Despite her fear, the desire to go outside was overwhelming.
The security alarm started counting down and she quickly closed the window. Shit. No way out. Unless…There is was again, she had to get outside.
The powerful urge had her pickup her backpack, slip out the window, skitter cross the roof to the corner of the building and shimmy down. It was like she had no control over her own movements. Her brain screamed for control—to no avail then she was sprinting to her vehicle in the parking lot. Carefully she opened the door, climbed in, started the engine and slowly pulled out of the parking lot onto the street and floored it.
Suddenly a cold clammy hand closed around her throat. Nails dug into her neck. “Take a right here. Pull into the driveway and stop. Don’t turn around.”
Finally, self-preservation took over. Releasing the steering wheel, she clawed at the hand closing off her oxygen, and opened her mouth to scream. Nothing came out. Then everything when black.
Next week, stop in and find out what magical adventure I have in store for you.
