Inside the house, a shadow passed by the huge bay window. She held her breath. Am I really going to go through with this?

Walking up the steps to the house, she paused. Why would he leave such an expensive car sitting out when he had a four-car garage? She was stalling. Straightening her shoulder’s she used the brass doorknocker. There was no answer. She knocked again.

The heavy oak door creaked open. Tristian stood shirtless, his abs rippled as he raised one muscular arm to lean on the doorframe. The skintight blue jeans hung low on his hips and his hair tousled as if he’d not been awake long.

When he stared at her, with those huge blue-gray eyes, tingles careened up her spine. She covered her mouth in case drool pooled in the corners her mouth. He was one sexy male. She sucked in a breath and opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. A brow arched, he peered questioningly at her then twisted to glance backward into the house. The sunlight streaming through the doorway accentuated several scars across his chest, rib area and a healed slash across his back. Who gets those kinds of battle scars and lives to tell the tale? Not going to ask. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea after all.

The corner of his mouth curved up in an inviting sexy-as-hell grin. “Good morning, Hannah. What a surprise.”

Jun 12th Favorite Book Covers &Why #L&SR #Wednesday Blog Challenge 6.12.19

Here we go Favorite Book Covers and Why!

At the risk of appearing self-promoting (okay I admit it), I’ve picked a few of my own books as my Favorite Book Covers. My cover artist is Kristian Norris. She does a fantastic job. Kris gets me, if you know what I mean.

Let’s start at the beginning with A Demon’s Witch. This is the first book in A Demon’s Witch Series and also my debut novel, best seller and award winning book and series!

Why I love the cover: I explained to Kris that this was my first novel, the first in my series and I needed a logo to tie them all together. I picked out the models and explained the background. Kris turned my words into a beautiful cover and created A Demon’s Witch logo which appears at the bottom of each of the five books. Tell me what you think and do you have favorite book covers?

Next would have to be A Warlock’s Secrets. The male model on the cover is exactly how I imagined Tristian and his blue eyes stare right into you from the cover. The female model was perfect for Hannah. While I picked out the models, Kris performed the magic to make the cover pop.

A Witch’s Journey cover embodied the tale of Pepper and Lathen. Their wildlife rescue center in Lobster Cove, Maine. Kris even added Kaylee, the osprey, in the upper left corner.

A Magic Redemption cover was absolutely beautiful. The mystic image of the couple, imposed over the background of an Irish castle, cliffs and sea in a green hue fits the feeling of the Irish tale perfectly.

Finally a book that isn’t mine. The Cauldron Stirred by Judith Sterling. I bought the book because of the cover. The heroine imposed over the background castle hinted of magic and Ireland. I was right and enjoyed this book.

Well there you have it. My Favorite Book Covers and Why. Now this isn’t to say these are the only ones. But, I need to get back to my WIP, so let’s see what the other authors in this blog challenge claim as their favorite book covers and why: L&SR

A Warlock’s Secrets wasn’t a planned part of A Witch’s Series. It came to fruition after several readers and a couple of reviewers asked or assumed Tristian’s story was next in the Demon’s Witch Series.

In truth, I’d never considered writing Tristian’s story. He was the Demon Overlords enforcer/assassin, for heaven’s sake. The hardest part of writing this book was wrapping my head around who Tristian really was and what he wanted out of life. He challenged me at every turn of the story. After delving into who he really is and what he wants, come to find out, he has a strong moral compass. He basically is the paranormal police for the Western Hemisphere. Enforcement is necessary to keep a balance between mortals and creatures which he learned young due to the death of his parents and having to raise his little sister. When love comes his way he is fiercely protective and everything Hannah is looking for in a forever relationship. A Warlock’s Secrets, second book in the Demon’s Witch Series. Often I’ve been asked why I write paranormal romance. Since I was old enough to read, I loved being swept away into a fantasy. Whether is was a trip to Mars, pretending I could wield magic with the characters in a book, or chasing a unicorn across the backyard only to find myself face to face with a vampire, my imagination ran wild with the written word. As I got older, if I didn’t like a part of the book or the way a story ended, I’d rewrite it. Oh what adventures Trixie Beldon and Nancy Drew had under my rewritten sections. LOL

Now I hope to encourage readers to leave your ordinary world behind for a few hours… be swept away into a magical romantic fantasy with a touch of mystery and suspense. It’s good for the soul and stress relieving to suspend reality for a while, whether you are reading or writing novels. <grin>

And her body was never found… She shook her head to dislodge the voice from her mind and followed Tristian to the trail. He took hold of her hand and intertwined their fingers as they walked the rocky coastline until the trail wound through the brush and trees down to the beach. Waves crashed against the shoreline, and wind gusts brought the ocean spray raining down on them. The sun hung low in the sky as she pulled her jacket tight around her.

The man was a puzzle. One minute he’s gruff and unresponsive, the next patient, attentive, and talkative. It’s like he’s at war with himself. Damn he’s intriguing and—sexy as hell. She liked the air of mystery surrounding him. If she was honest with herself, the hint of danger that lurked around him was a turn on too. Ma and Da would not approve. She snickered.

“What’s so funny?” Tristian stopped in mid-stride and stared at her.

“Oh, nothing. Just that my attraction to bad boys is alive and well. My parents…”

He quirked an eyebrow. “Boys? I don’t think so. Your parents?”

“Wouldn’t approve of you.” She snickered again. “And I used the term boys loosely, meaning males.” Her gaze slithered over him from top to bottom. “Believe me, I’m well aware you’re not a boy.”

“I’m certainly glad you noticed.” He paused for a couple beats. “Your parents—does it matter?” he asked sliding a seductive glance in her direction.
