Charm Me Again – Sunday Snippet

Welcome to Sunday Snippets. This week its the award-winning Charm Me Again sequel to Charm Me a fun and flirty Valentine tale. Join me each week for this fun adventure.

Charm Me Again is a bit darker. Two families long divided brought together through an adventure of a lifetime. Breaking the curse is only the first step to forever.

I love all my books, but Charm Me Again is one of my favorites.  Can he break the age old curse to save her and their future, or will she be lost to him forever? AND it available in audiobook! Yep this book as it all.  So lets take a peek into Charm Me Again!

For several months a Scottish Highland Ghost has haunted Daylan, in his personal life, his professional life and at his forge. Yet, being a talented warlock, he is no closer to discovering what the ghost wants or why he chose Daylan. A trip to his estranged sister’s home in Colorado may have unforeseen consequences especially when family history leads him to a shocking discovery.

As his attraction blooms for Josie, a yoga instructor in his sister’s studio, he realizes there may be more to Josie than he can imagine. When an ancient rogue Fae Warrior set on revenge kidnaps her in an attempt to claim her as his own, a devastating curse comes to light.

Daylan’s world spirals out of control as he searches for Josie. Can he break the age old curse to save her and their future, or will she be lost to him forever?

A peek between the pages of Charm Me Again.

She padded over to the window and opened it a crack. The fresh air on her skin was cool. It relieved the smothering feeling that came over her the minute Daylan left the room. Taking a cleansing breath, she braced her hands against the window frame and took another deep calming breath.

Moonlight flooded inside with a light breeze. There it was again, that pull. Something was drawing her outside. Warning bells went off inside her head. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Despite her fear, the desire to go outside was overwhelming.

The security alarm started counting down and she quickly closed the window. Shit. No way out. Unless…There is was again, she had to get outside.

The powerful urge had her pickup her backpack, slip out the window, skitter cross the roof to the corner of the building and shimmy down. It was like she had no control over her own movements. Her brain screamed for control—to no avail then she was sprinting to her vehicle in the parking lot. Carefully she opened the door, climbed in, started the engine and slowly pulled out of the parking lot onto the street and floored it.

Suddenly a cold clammy hand closed around her throat. Nails dug into her neck. “Take a right here. Pull into the driveway and stop. Don’t turn around.”

Finally, self-preservation took over. Releasing the steering wheel, she clawed at the hand closing off her oxygen, and opened her mouth to scream. Nothing came out. Then everything when black.

Next week, stop in and find out what magical adventure I have in store for you.

A Witch’s Holiday Wedding – Sunday Snippet

Happy Holidays! The Sunday Snippet this week is A Witch’s Holiday Wedding  on sale for #99cents. As you know, each week I’ll spotlight one of my books, tell you what’s unique about it, and highlight an excerpt. Join me for this #fun #adventure into the paranormal realm.  A Witch’s Holiday Wedding is the best-seller, and is part of the award-winning A WITCH’S JOURNEY SERIES.  A small town paranormal romance/mystery.

You can have a seat and grab an insulated mug. I’ve got hot chocolate, hot cider, and coffee. Choose your pot; they’re labeled. Pick your choice of a Snicker-doodle, Chocolate Chip, or Peanut butter cookie from the plate. Yep, I baked them myself. Let’s see what A WITCH’S HOLIDAY WEDDING has in store for us. An exciting, fun, holiday tale about a couple torn in too many directions, with a covert military mission thrown in, will Pepper and Lathen make it to the alter?

A little about me before I tell you the unique twist of this holiday tale. I grew up in a military town that is home to five military installations.  My husband, three uncles, and one cousin served in the military. So the military runs deep in my world. In this story you get a glimpse of the often forgotten vet.   While the book is paranormal, the military vet’s problems are very real.

Part of this tale is one of second chances. Mike, a military vet with problems and Lathen is part of his support system. Giving Mike a job at the Wildlife Rescue Center brings his life out of a tailspin and puts him on a path to success. Check out this book for a different kind of second chances, a feel good book you won’t want to miss.

Lets see what A WITCH’S HOLIDAY WEDDING is all about?

Elemental witch, Pepper McKay and former Navy SEAL, Lathen Quartz have built Lobster Cove Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center on enchanted McKay land. During a romantic interlude on Halloween night, Pepper happily agrees to become Lathen’s wife. What better day than Winter Solstice for their wedding in a town that loves celebrations and Christmas. However, planning a wedding and operating their wildlife center takes a toll on both Pepper and Lathen.

When the couple takes a much-needed break for Thanksgiving with family in Colorado, a Maine snowstorm fills the center with injured wildlife. Lathen finds himself drawn into a covert military mission, while trying to deal with issues concerning friends and family. Pepper wants to cancel the wedding. Is she having second thoughts? Will the nosy McKay ghosts, Lathen’s werewolf pack, Pepper’s parents, and her best friend help or hinder the wedding and holiday plans?

A sneak peek between the pages of A WITCH’S HOLIDAY WEDDING:

“Couldn’t be helped. Besides that’s what the emergency fund is for.” Pepper rubbed Timber’s ears. “Dad and mom will understand. Your family is leaving tomorrow anyway. Right?” She paused for a couple beats. “You ready to tell me what’s going on and who is Mike?”

Lathen sighed heavily. “Yeah. He’s one of the veterans on my radar, kinda like a support tree. Mostly, Jay handles it, since you and I got together, but…well…things happen. Mike’s been out of work for a while, trouble holding down a job because of his combat PTSD. Didn’t stay on his med’s, no money, couldn’t get into the VA…just a series of things sent him into a downward spiral.”

“I see… You never mentioned this part of your life before. Don’t you think…”

“Yea, probably should have, but knew it wouldn’t make a difference to you. You don’t mind that I offered him a job, only for a little while?”

“If we take time to train him and he works out, he can stay as long as he wants. Look how well our other vet, Alec’s done.”

Lathen nodded, raised a brow. “But Alec had less baggage than Mike, like me he was single. Injured physically and psychologically, but no one depended on him… but Mike. It makes a difference.”

“Isn’t his wife…I mean he’s got support…”

“No what he has is a young wife trying to cope with a colicky baby, who cries for hours, day and night. On top of the baby, she’s got a husband who is more of a weight than a help and they’re struggling financially. He couldn’t get his meds and was ready to end it all. I think we brought him back from the brink. That’s why Alec will probably stay the night. A job will help in a lot of ways.” Lathen scrolled through the numbers on his phone.

“Financially, but shouldn’t the VA help with his medical care, prescription costs?”

“In an ideal world, but the VA system is broken, it’s getting better — but not fast enough for people like Mike. So guys like Jay and I step in to fill the gaps as best we can. Speaking of Jay, I need to make that call.” Lathen winced. “At least Jay got a few days with family.” He tapped the screen and put the phone to his ear. The phone rang only once. “Jay, Lathen, we got a situation with Mike.”

Thank you for stopping by next week we will return to Sunday Snippets. Please check back next week for another exciting adventure!

Skeleton Squad tracked down the Halloween Spirit

It has been a long, exhaustive, search, winding through New Mexico, and several towns in Colorado, but the Skeleton Squad tracked down the Halloween Spirit right here in their own front yard. Can you believe it four days before Halloween? It’s a record! Yep, if you remember Octiva, the octopus was searching in this area earlier this month.  The Squad is sure that the Spirit wasn’t always in their front yard, but hiding behind the tombstone on October 27th, the Halloween Spirit was found dancing and singing with another couple of spirits. The Spirit saw no reason to stay hidden so the Squad caught the Spirit on camera in its disguise.

So Happy Early Halloween to all of you who have followed the third annual adventures of the Squad’s search for the Halloween Spirit. We appreciate your interest and comments. The Skeleton Squad promises to be back next year for another fun filled Halloween Spirit Search and adventure! We hope you’ll join us!

Speaking of Halloween Party.  Check out Hidden Gypsy Magic, one of the A Witch’s Journey Series.  You aren’t going to believe what happens at the Halloween party.

So lets take a peek into Hidden Gypsy Magic

Gwen a wildlife rehabilitor, and Brock a veterinarian, discover the consequences of awakening hidden gypsy magic.

The Salem Wildlife Sanctuary is Gwen Taylor’s life work. Her Irish Gypsy heritage provides a hidden talent she uses to help the creatures under her care. But even her magical skills can’t help new rescues in dire need of veterinary care.

The opportunity of signing on as the vet for Gwen’s sanctuary dropped into Brock Scutter’s lap after he expanded his practice to include wildlife. The personal attraction he and Gwen experience is undeniable the more their professional and personal lives collide.

Touring the only “non-haunted” house in Salem they both feel a spark of magic. A trip to his family’s cabin uncovers a heritage he didn’t know existed. If they want a future together, it means facing the consequences of awakening hidden Gypsy magic and a race against the clock to correct past wrongs.

A peek between the pages of Hidden Gypsy Magic:

Seven minutes until midnight. Brock opened his mouth to speak, but Pepper beat him to it.

Isn’t there some way to banish him forever while he walks among the mortals? I don’t have my spell book with me. Guess I should travel with it after all the recent experiences with you gypsies.” A slight giggle slipped out between her lips.

The somber tone in the room eased for a minute. “I mean, in your painting don’t you…”

“You’re on the right path. That’s why I’m here.” Beth smiled wide. “You can’t battle him outside this house. But with the protections afforded us inside the abode, with our combined magic and grandmother’s grimoire we would be able to do exactly as you suggest. Do we have your full support?”

“Of course.” The group chorused with the exception of Jeremiah, still shell shocked leaning against the wall. But Morgan was all in pumping her fist in the air.

Lance stuck his head out of the upstairs room. “Need us to help?”

“No,” Dylan called up to him. “Protect the children. We got this.”

“Good enough.” Lance slammed the door shut.

A trail of mist floated out of the picture, around the room, and settled beside Beth taking the shape of an older woman holding a thick book spread open. “Granddaughter. Are we ready then? We’ve located the…um….” The elderly ghost switched her gaze from the pages of the book to outside the window. “…proper page.” Then the ghost jerked her chin toward the painting where previously all the Colson family had been but now they gathered in the center of the room inside the painting.

“Let’s do it.” Gwen shared a glance at the clock with him. “Only—”

Beth again put her finger to her ghostly lips and shook her head.

The elderly ghost began to read from the book.

“We are witches, this is our creed. We will help where there is need. Days of old, wrongs to right. Let the truth be known this night. Forever banish from all realms Judge John Hathorne’s spirit and soul are bound. So mote it be.”

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek into Hidden Gypsy Magic. A great Halloween read!

Hidden Gypsy Magic – Sunday Snippet

Welcome to Sunday Snippets – Hidden Gypsy Magic.  Each week I spotlight one of my books, tell you what’s special about it, and highlight an excerpt. Join me each week for this fun adventure.

This week is the award-winning Hidden Gypsy Magic part of A Witch’s Journey Series revolving around animal rescue, magic, second chances, and paying it forward.  I’m sure you’ll love this feel good series! Let me tell you a little secret.  I’ve always wanted to visit Salem, Massachusetts, own a cabin in Maine, and live in a lighthouse.  Sure enough I live out my fantasies in my books.

I love all my books, but Hidden Gypsy Magic is one of my favorites.  A house and cabin that clean and fix dinner. What more could you want? Maybe wildlife rescue? Magic? A handsome veterinarian? AND it available in audiobook! Yep this book as it all.

So lets take a peek into Hidden Gypsy Magic

Jeremiah rushed to the window, touching the glass with his fingers. The rest of the group followed in time to see the tendrils expand and circle a ghostly shape in top hat and suit, the ground beneath its feet glowed as if molten lava bubbled up from the earth’s core. With a snap, the tendrils and their prisoner sank into the ground leaving no trace except a stench of sulfur seeping into the old house.

The elderly ghost slumped against the wall that held the picture and turned into a white mist returning to the painting.

The door locks clicked, the shutters banged open and the full moon shone brightly in a cloudless star-strewn sky.

Anyone care to take a peek outside?” Brock asked cautiously reaching for the door handle.

Beth’s ghostly hand rested on his. “Give it a minute.” She bent over and picked up a poppet that lay singed on the floor. It crumpled in her hand and turned to ash. She gently blew the ashes into the fireplace. “It is done. We will take our leave but our gratitude will be forever yours.” The ghost faded away.

Next week, a new snippet!  I look forward to our next visit!
