#L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 3.11.20 One Skill I Wish I Had But Don’t

Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 3-4-2020 One Skill I Wish I had But Don’t.  Wow, so many so little time. LOL Please have a seat, grab a hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookie. Lets get started.,

My spatial concept abilities are terrible.  Someone will describe something to me in detail but unless I can see a picture of it, I can’t envision it. Is that a skill?

Painting or drawing.  Here, i have the opposite problem. I see this beautiful picture in my mind, and am unable to put it on paper or canvas. I am so jealous or in awe of those who have the artistic ability.

So there you have it, one skill, ok I cheated and listed two, I wish I had but don’t!

Alas, I must return to my writing cave where deadlines loom on a new WIP (very exciting and coming along very well) so let’s see what other authors list as their One Skill I Wish I had But Don’t . L&SR

What one or maybe two skills do you wish you had but don’t Please list them in the comments.

One of my favorite award winning books, A WARLOCK’S SECRETS e-book is on sale for 99¢. Yippee!! Writing this book was an adventure in and of itself. A Warlock’s Secrets came to fruition after several readers and a couple of reviewers asked or assumed Tristian’s story was next in the Demon’s Witch Series. In truth, I’d never considered writing his story. He was the Demon Overlords enforcer/assassin, for heaven’s sake. After delving into who he really is and what he wants, come to find out, he has a strong moral compass and when love comes his way he is fiercely protective and everything Hannah is looking for in a forever relationship. A Warlock’s Secrets, second book in the Demon’s Witch Series is on sale for 99¢ for a limited time.!Join in the adventure and download your copy today!

Years ago, a sacred ceremony at the Dragon’s Moon Coven turned deadly. Son of the high priestess, Tristian Shandie’s life changed forever. With a price on his head and revenge in his heart, he has no choice but to follow in his father’s footsteps to a profession shrouded in secrets. Now his skills as an enforcer for the Demon Overlord are second to none. But dangerous secrets he harbors are a liability he can no longer afford.

A chance meeting with a woman he finds irresistible flips Tristian’s world upside down. Hannah is a cyber security specialist with secrets of her own. Bad boys never appealed to her until Tristian, who changes everything. In his darkest hours, she is dragged into his magical world.

If they survive, is she strong enough to heal his heart and tame the warlock? Or will their secrets destroy them?

Thanks for popping in. I really appreciate it. Then next week, March 11th, we take a look at One skill I wish I had but don’t.  Boy that’s going to be interesting!

Adds a new dimension to our concept of DC, doesn’t it? Join the adventure of Bruce and Angie, an entertaining escape from the ordinary world! This spicy romance has it all intrigue, humor, thrills, danger and a splash of magic to keep you on the edge of your seat.

A bit about A Demon’s Witch:

Keeping a lid on all the paranormal beings inhabiting Washington D.C., is a daunting job. Bruce, a six hundred year old demon and the Territory Overlord of the Western Hemisphere, keeps his finger on the pulse of DC’s power players through the activities at his highly successful Wycked Hair Salon. His movie star good looks and body builder physique keeps his dance card full and the rumor mills running.  Within these walls, his anonymity is safe, mostly.
Bruce’s world spins out of control when Angelique, a pint size, gorgeous witch, with an attitude breezes through the doors of his salon. She is the younger sister of Tristian, Bruce’s long time trusted enforcer, whose professional skills are second to none. Tristian is furious at the relationship between Bruce and Angelique, a dangerous situation, but something darker awaits them all. Yet undeniable attraction between demon and witch promises to tear apart both their professional and personal worlds.

A sneak peek between the pages of A Demon’s Witch:

A feeling of dark foreboding, like storm clouds forming on the horizon before a violent storm, washed over Bruce as he maneuvered the SUV into the parking lot behind The Krystal Unicorn.

Tristian was already there and it wasn’t to give his report. Bruce could feel the fury in Tristian’s magic signature hanging in the air. A silver tipped arrow penetrated the windshield, split the arm securing the rearview mirror, and stuck in the headrest a quarter inch from Bruce’s neck. Blue liquid oozed from the tip and a stream of red mist escaped from the other end of the arrow.

“Hold your breath and don’t open the door or windows. The influx of fresh air will spread the poison.” He hissed though his teeth not daring to take a breath.

Air pressure inside the vehicle changed, Angie’s head felt like it was going to explode. “Bruce.” She whispered into his mind, a benefit of being mated.

“I know, just a few seconds more, I’ve got it handled.” His deep smooth voice floated reassuringly in her mind, as he reached over caressing her shoulder.

The pressure eased and the red mist sucked in on itself disappearing along with the oozing liquid. He pulled the arrow from the headrest, fingering the hole in the upholstery.

Through gritted teeth, Bruce growled. “His first mistake was that he missed me. His second deadly mistake was he risked your life. That is unforgivable.” Those two things also told Bruce that Tristian wasn’t thinking clearly, fury was coloring his judgment. That gave Bruce an edge, though the attack caught him off guard. He hadn’t expected Tristian’s attack to put his sister at risk.

The console between them lowered to seat level. He hoped to add  fuel to the fury burning inside Tristian. Bruce put his arm around Angie’s waist and pulled her against him, his lips pressed against hers then gently covered her mouth as his tongue traced the soft fullness of her lips. He drew back, touched his lips to hers again trailing them down to the pulsing hollow of her neck and whispered, “You’re going into the shop now, Willow is waiting just on the other side of the door. Please stay there, you’ll be able to remain in my mind just don’t interfere. I need your presence there as a calming one. Willow can help you.”

“I don’t understand.”

“I know, there wasn’t time to explain how everything works and I’m not exactly sure myself. Only that I can feel you in my mind and I assume you can feel me in yours.”

“Yes, it’s a weird sensation,” Angie said a tremor in her voice.

“We’ll learn together to use it to our benefit, now is as good a time as any to practice.”

She snorted, “Sure, our lives are on the line. No big deal.” She threw up her hands.

All proceeds from these 3 anthologies will go to help support the recovery of Australia.  We asked Stephen to decide where the profits would go to do the best work and after much research he continued to come back to The Red Cross.  We can identify where we want the donation to go and we will have it go directly to the efforts of The Red Cross in helping with the recovery effort in Australia.

Stephen gave us a recent update  and if you want to read more about what is happening directly from someone who is there you can read more here:

Recent rains have helped enormously, still there are fires, but not to the same extent as there were, and the focus now is more on recovery and rebuilding. To that end there are advertising campaigns now to stop what’s called the second wave disaster and that is people staying away from tourist areas and business who rely on travelers and visitors to survive. Most of our tourist destinations are unaffected, yet people think the whole country is gone, which of course isn’t true. The problem of course is that if people stop visiting, businesses will go broke, making the overall recovery much harder. With the rains, re-growth has already begun and some burnt out areas have grasses and shrubs recovering already.

Then of course there is the wildlife, and those organizations such as the RSPCA, and others are doing remarkable work rescuing animals and rehousing them. A lot of our native trees are Eucalyptus, and with millions of trees gone, Koalas only eat those leaves, so regrowth and resettlement is going on in huge numbers to save a cuddly species from extinctions in the wild. Kangaroos will bounce back, and in time, the feeling is most other animals will to, but the key words are – in time. In a lot of cases we hope the burnt trees themselves will regrow as they have evolved to grow after bushfires. I’m told with heavy rains in recent days some are showing green growth, which is encouraging.

All charities are ‘working their bums off’ but the one who seems to be doing the most is the Red Cross. So in closing, two things.  Firstly – and I know I’ve said it before – my heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for participating in whatever way you have. Forty eight stories simply is mind-blowing, and the offers for promotion, trailers, editing, cover design, formatting and of course redirecting the money has been so uplifting I can’t even begin to tell you – and for someone who uses words all the time – that’s saying something.

Secondly, if ever you’ve thought about visiting this country, now’s the time. And as Paul Hogan (Crocodile Dundee) once said in some fantastic famous ads in the US and across the world. “Come on down; I’ll throw a shrimp on the barby for you.  – Author Stephen King

Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 3-4-2020 Characters that Remind Me of Myself & Why

Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 3-4-2020 Characters that Remind Me of Myself & Why.  Wow, had to think on that one for a bit. Please have a seat, grab a hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookie. Lets get started.,

First character that comes to mind is my own Mercy from Mystic Maples.  Her curiosity is always getting her into trouble. Yeah, I claim that character trait. Mom insisted that I would outgrow it. Wrong! My overactive imagination combined with curiosity is a potent combination for a paranormal, romance, mystery writer. Anything can happen and usually does.

Next character would be Bo from TroubleMaker, by Linda Howard. Strong of character, smart, loyal, and wary.

Let’s move on to TV characters, Judge Lola Carmichael on All Rise. Our physical characteristics may be different, but our search for truth, unwavering commitment, and feistiness fit to a T.

Movies, Wonderwoman – Gal Gadot – Yeah don’t we all wish. LOL Anyway, stubborn, loyal, determined. We share those traits.

So there you have it,Characters that Remind Me of Myself & Why!

Alas, I must return to my writing cave where deadlines loom on a new WIP (very exciting) so let’s see what other authors list which Characters that Remind Me of Myself and Why. L&SR

Which character reminds you of you? Please list them in the comments.
