Give a warm welcome to Mary Morgan, author of Destiny Of A Warrior, Legends of the Fenian Warriors, Book 4. Happy Book Birthday Mary!!
Hello Tena!
Delighted to be on Authors’ Secrets Blog! Today is the release of my fourth and final book in the Legends of the Fenian Warriors series. With this final book, I must confess to a bit of sadness on ending another series. However, knowing these mighty warriors, I’m confident there’ll be more over the years.
Let me share a preview into the greatest Fenian Warrior from my fictional Fae realm…
The great Aidan Kerrigan was a tale I feared to write. When he first appeared in the story, Dragon Knight’s Medallion, Order of the Dragon Knights, Book 2, I panicked. I did not know he was a Fenian Warrior until he walked through the crowd of people at the airport to greet his daughter, Aileen. His presence loomed mighty and grew with the previous stories in the Legends of the Fenian Warriors. Regardless, I knew then that his and Rose’s love story had to be told.
With each Fenian Warrior’s story, I shared a layer about this Fae. Little did I know when I penned his first line of dialogue that he was the leader of the Fenian Warriors, came from royalty, and his sister was Queen of the Fae realm.
He chose not to reveal any of this to me. And this is why I became terrified. What more could he share? Well, dear readers, Aidan made it simple. He told me to write a love story, stating, “For you see, love is greater than all the power attained in the world—be it human or Fae.”
Therefore, I took you back in time to when he was the leader of the Brotherhood—Fenian Warriors. To when this great warrior had no blemish to stain his life and love flipped his world upside down.
And the lovely Rose MacLaren was a perfect match. As he professed to her, “I saw beauty inside the depth of your soul. Your intelligence would rival any Fae in the herbal gardens, and you possess a wisdom that sparks from a desire to learn more. You challenge me, leannan.”
I hope you’ve enjoyed a glimpse behind the scenes of this powerful love story.
In addition, don’t forget to enter the Rafflecopter below for a chance to win this lovely gift package of a signed print copy of Destiny of a Warrior, Celtic jeweled bookmark, and a $5 Starbucks gift card (Open to U.S. and Canada only).
Tell us a little about Destiny Of A Warrior!
“You met him in the Order of the Dragon Knights. Now, journey to the realm of the Fae and witness their greatest legend!”
As leader of the Fenian Warriors, Aidan Kerrigan’s accolades are many and his loyalty to the Fae unwavering. When an unexpected mission sends him to the human world and a chance encounter with Rose MacLaren, he’s tempted for the first time in his existence to discard duty and claim what is forbidden.
Rose MacLaren, a Society of the Thistle member, yearns to expand her botanical knowledge with her love of history. After her rescue by a handsome stranger, she is compelled to look beyond what her rational mind comprehends and unravel the secret of the standing stones, as well as the man who captivates her.
In a mystical world ruled by ancient laws and edicts, can a fierce warrior choose a path destined for love? And will a woman honoring the ways of the land believe in a myth only spoken of in legends? If they do, will their love be enough to defy death’s punishment?
A sneak peek between the pages of Destiny Of A Warrior.
A chill of foreboding swept through him. In her short time of being among these standing stones, she’d obtained bits of knowledge no one else had come upon. “Continue,” he encouraged softly.
Hugging her notebook against her chest, she went to the tallest stone in the center. “These symbols and images on the back mirror the three centered on the slab. In addition, they are all the same as the other site outside of Glasgow.”
“They’re merely circles,” he admitted, keeping his voice steady. “The Celtic triskele symbol also decorates many other stone structures.”
Her brow furrowed in obvious concentration as she disappeared around the back of the stone.
Tossing the pinecone aside, Aidan stood. His instincts screamed at him to do something to prevent her from further inspecting the stone. Only he knew the significance. And he now understood why he was sent here. In all his travels, not one human had documented his time among them. Or so he believed. Upon his arrival, he longed to pulverize the stones to shards of dust after viewing the back. The altar stone had remained buried under moss, dirt, and ivy. The same was true with the tallest stone at its base.
He fought against extending his hand outward and sinking the area a thousand feet underground. Making quick strides to Rose, he came to an abrupt halt. Her face was ashen as she knelt behind the stone, sketching an entire scene on her notepad. One side mirrored the stones, but on the opposite page, her hand drew an epic vista.
The blood pounded inside his head, and he dared to draw in a breath. With each stroke of her hand, an image came to life and his greatest fear unfolded. Slowly, Aidan lifted his hand. The power built and traveled down his arm. He had to destroy the picture. Banish the past vision from her mind. Eradicate all knowledge of him. Seal the door to the past from the present.
The truth must never be revealed.
But when Rose lifted her gaze to meet his, Aidan’s heart stopped. For the first time in his life, he was torn between duty and his own personal need.
“I am sorry,” he stated in a strangled voice.

My thoughts on Destiny of a Warrior:
Mary Morgan has done it again. Ms. Morgan introduced me to historical, Celtic paranormal and fantasy romance. Since then, I have read all of her books (not necessarily in order- but that doesn’t natter) and this book has become my very favorite. Aidan is the Leader of the Fenian Warriors who lives for his job until… Rose’s strength shows him what love can do.
Rose and Aidan are wonderful characters you can’t help but cheer them on. The story will suck you in and refuse to let you go until you reluctantly turn the last page with a sigh sorry to see it end. I love stories that make you feel you’re on the journey with the characters. Descriptions so vivid you can see, feel, touch, and smell them.
If you love romance, secrets, twist and turns with strong heroes and heroines then you are going to love Destiny of a Warrior! Are you still sitting there staring at this review? What are you waiting for? Secure your copy today and join Aidan and Rose’s love story! You’ll be so glad you did. Oh, did I mention the love scenes sizzle right off the page?

Books I Love that Became Films/TV Shows
Here we go, Books I Love that Became Films or TV Shows #L&SR #Wednesday Blog Challenge 5.22.19

Hmmm…Books I Love….this is going back a bit but top of my list HARRY POTTER SERIES. I have every book, hard back edition, and all the movies on Blu-Ray. I’m sure these need no introduction.
Okay, I admit also have Fantastic Beasts (1) and Where to Find Them (2016); and Fantastic Beasts (2) The Crimes of Grindelwald, based on J.K. Rowling’s books.
The year is 1926, and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
Let’s see. Next is Discovery of Witches. That goes without saying.
I enjoyed the Christopher Paolini books Eragon, Eldest, Brisinger, and Inheritance. Only one, Eragon, was made into a movie (thank goodness) They did a terrible job on the movie and no other ones were made. What a shame!
Last but not least – Ready Player One – From filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes the science fiction action adventure “Ready Player One,” based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller of the same name, which has become a worldwide phenomenon. The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.
Great movie, but the book was better!
As an avid reader, I could go on and on about Books I Love but as usual, my latest WIP is calling to me and the deadline looms, so tell me what your Favorite Books are that were made into movies in the comments! Then let’s see what the other authors in this blog challenge claim as their favorite books made into movies: L&SR Next Week, we’ll talk about the Lessons I learned for a book Character. Interesting concept, don’t you think?

Interview with Liv Arnold Author of Law & Disorder
Give a warm welcome to Liv Arnold author of Law and Disorder. Pull up a chair, grab a drink of your choice from the cooler, a Chocolate Chip or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and let’s find out a little about Law and Disorder.
Why did you choose the cover concept you did?
I didn’t want the typical romance cover with lovers in a passionate embrace or shirtless men. I wanted something cute and fun. Plus I love dogs. So many people have commented on the little dog.
How long have you been writing?
I used to write stories at school for fun, but I never thought anything would come of it. So, I did a degree that had nothing to do with writing and started a full-time job in the finance industry. My mum encouraged me to do a creative writing course at RMIT. It’s a short course that runs for 8-10 weeks for three hours a week after work. I loved every moment of the class and ended up doing three short courses. The teachers were so inspiring, and it was great to speak to likeminded people. I workshopped my stories in class and continued with them after the course finished.
Okay, you’re casting the movie version of your novel – who would you choose for the main characters? We’re talking dream cast.
That’s a hard one as I never pictured anyone in mind when writing my book. Maybe the below.
Juliet: Zoe Kravitz, Kate Beckinsale
Jesse: Young Robert Downey Jr, Antonio Banderes, Antonio Sabato Jr.
What’s your approach to writing? Are you a plotter or follow your characters flow (Pantser)?
Panster. I go wherever the characters take me, but I usually have a rough idea how my story will end. So, every chapter will lead towards this.
I wish I was more organised with plotting. Sometimes I spend so much time in front of a blank computer screen willing the words to come. My characters grow as I write – I don’t even come up with personality traits beforehand.
Any tips to share with fellow authors/aspiring authors? What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?
Don’t give up and keep working on your craft. Sometimes it’s all about your manuscript landing on the right publisher’s desk at the right time. Savvy Authors does great online workshops.

Tell us a little about Law & Disorder.
Lawyer Juliet Jackson has come head to head with Sergeant Jesse Burns on numerous occasions in court. He is provoking. Pigheaded. Punch-worthy. They don’t get along. Not one little bit. The unfortunate fact he’s also her next-door neighbor brings her loathing off the charts. But when Juliet’s caught locked outside her home in nothing but a skimpy towel, she must swallow her pride and turn to Jesse for help. She doesn’t expect the explosive chemistry between them and can’t help but wonder if Jesse’s as demanding in the bedroom as he is in the courtroom.
A peek between the pages of Law & Disorder.
His handsome face smirked before he averted his eyes and turned his head, but she could still see the profile of his face. His police uniform stretched across his chest. Wonder if that chest is chiseled underneath all those clothes.
Her ears burned hotter than chili sauce, spreading to her neck and chest. No point in putting on a mask this time, because there was no escaping this. Her fingers found the ends of the towel to cover her naked body, but her legs froze on the spot. “I got locked out of my house.”
“You got locked out of your house…naked?” A grin spread across his face, revealing the dimple on the bottom lip. She wanted to bite it but didn’t know if it was to hurt him or because of the temperature between her legs.
Scowling at his sarcasm, her fingers gripped the bricks of her house and she pulled herself up. “Yes. Why are you even here? Didn’t you have enough of me this morning?
“Never enough.”

Interview Clare Di Liscia Author of Neliem
Give a warm welcome to Clare Di. Liscia, author of Neliem soon to be released May 21, 2019. Happy almost book birthday!
Pull up a chair, grab a drink of your choice from the cooler, a Chocolate Chip or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and let’s find out a little about Clare and Neliem!
What inspired Neliem?
From my earliest recollection, I heard stories of how my father had been tormented at school as a child. Every day without fail, he was the first one out of his classroom, racing with all his might to get home. He had to be. Being slow meant a severe beating, or maybe worse. So he ran. Outdistancing his tormentors, he dared to find safety racing along the dangerous cliffs that outlined his small island as the other children threw stones at him.
This image haunted me for years. And it was the first image I had of my character Oriana. She too was bullied, and needed to outdistance her adversaries. Abuse and discrimination played important roles in my father’s life, which translated into Oriana’s. A beautiful girl who transforms herself from victim to warrior.
Do you see yourself in your characters?
Yes. I could relate easily to what Oriana goes through. She lives in a small minded village, nobody dares break the unwritten laws how girls should behave. She stands out by defending herself, using her dagger when the occasion arises.
Unfortunately, it scares off any potential suitors.
In pursuing a writing career, I too went against the grain. Lots of people told me ‘it won’t happen.’ That I was wasting money going to conferences and writers retreats. I chose not to listen. I followed my passion and continued writing. Now my debut NELIEM is set to release 5/21/2019.
What do you do when you’re not writing?
Easy, I’m swimming. I usually swim every single day for an hour. It’s a way to decompress as well as work out problems I might be facing with a particular book I’m working on. All the noise mutes underwater. It’s refreshing and I highly recommend anyone who wants a writing career to find a means of exercise that they find exhilarating.
A sneek peek between the pages of Neliem!
Before I clear the field, I realize too late that it’s a trap. I have been herded like a sheep, far from the few scattered homes, toward the deserted cliffside where no one will hear my screams for help. Another boy with flaming red hair stands behind a tree waiting for me; I recognize him from the market. I can smell him, sweaty with a tangy sweetness that can only mean one thing. He’s been eating apples and waiting for some starving girl foolish enough to think she could steal some fruit.
I reach for my dagger, strength pulsating so deeply that I nearly drop it from my sweaty palm. Then, the voice of the boy of my dreams, whispers, “Hold it steady, Oriana. You can do this.”
I tuck all fear down deep within me. Later, I tell myself; later I will worry.
