A little about Meringue Snowflake Magic:
After being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Wynter Dahl finds herself with a new name and new home. Whisked into the Witness Protection program she finds herself in the Podunk town of Raven’s Hollow, Colorado. She has more than one secret to keep and is not sure who she can trust, though the deputy sheriff is hard to resist.
Braydon “Blaze” Nightwing, owns Dragon Fire Pizza and takes his job as deputy sheriff seriously. He means to protect his town and its residents, including the mysterious newcomer. He rescues her after a tumble and finds himself in over his head. He senses she’s more than she seems but so is he.
When her cover is blown and her life is in danger it will take the whole town to save her and their annual holiday festival and cookie contest. What is Christmas without a little magic?

The sun was warm through her large side window as she stood sipping her tea and admiring the newly fallen snow sparkling like iridescent glitter over the ground. Glancing at her bag, where she’d secreted her cell phone and battery inside the lining when her handler requested she turn it over she sighed. Never take for granted what you have, for it can be gone in the blinke of an eye.
Setting her tea mug down, she picked up the bag and unzipped it, released the cell from its hiding place, installed the battery, and paused before powering it up. Her handler’s last words flowed through her mind. Whether or not your phone actually is missing, remember you can be tracked if you try to use it. A mistake that could end your life. These people are not playing around. She shoved the phone back in its hiding place and turned her attention back to the window.
Several children were running up and down the hill diagonally across the street with old-fashioned wooden and newer sleds that looked like strips of brightly colored plastic. They flew down the hill at break-neck speed. She took another sip of tea, choked, and spit it all over the window, blinds, and herself.
Did that little girl just unfurl iridescent blue wings and hover above the others throwing snowballs? She blinked, rubbed her eyes, and stared at the scene outside. Sure enough, there were now three children hovering in the air waging war with snowballs on the others sliding down the slope. One had fallen off a sled and transformed into a furry wolf rolling down the hill. What kind of a place is this?
Suddenly the doorbell rang. She bobbled her mug spilling more tea on the light gray carpet in front of the window. Geez, what now? On her way to the door, she tore off a couple of paper towels and dropped them on the stain. Pausing to look through the peephole, she hissed out a breath and yanked open the door. The child with wings, pointed ears, and fur was temporarily forgotten.
Deputy Blaze Nightwing stood on her porch.

Elemental witch, Pepper McKay and former Navy SEAL, Lathen Quartz have built Lobster Cove Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center on enchanted McKay land. During a romantic interlude on Halloween night, Pepper happily agrees to become Lathen’s wife. What better day than Winter Solstice for their wedding in a town that loves celebrations and Christmas. A strong arm whipped around her waist, the air whooshed out as she squealed. Pepper balled up her gloved fist as a large warm hand wrapped around her wrist. “I’ve seen you defend yourself. Not going to chance it.” A deep voice chuckled behind her.
“Lathen — I’m going to…”
He spun her around and covered her cold lips with his warm ones. Werewolves run several degrees warmer than most of the population, one of the many things she loved about him. She relaxed into him, their parkas making a wisping sound as the material rubbed against each other. “That’s better,” he murmured against her lips.
All at once the lights in the town square blinked on. Low positioned red and green laser light decorations sparkled over the snow-covered ground and onto the gazebo complementing the white lights. From the other direction, a blue laser sprinkled tiny snowflakes across the building. Evening fell quickly in December.
“This is absolutely beautiful,” She breathed against his chilled cheek and whirled out of his hold taking in all the lighted decorations not visible earlier. Then she pointed toward the bulletin board. “I’ve been reading the town’s holiday events, Lobster Cove really embraces Christmas.”
“Told you.” Lathen said smugly. “Even some of the boats docked in the harbor are decked out with colored lights.”
“Christmas was just another day, too much to do and no funds to do it with at Salem’s Sanctuary. This year will be soooo different.” Pepper reached for his hand and twined her fingers through his.
“Did your folks celebrate Christmas—Oh, witches don’t believe?” A brown paper bag in hand, he reached in and handed her a lobster burger. “There’s fries in the bag.”
She took her glove off and held the warm burger in her hand, took a bite then peered into the bag, and snatched a couple french fries. “Irish witches do—we have enough mortals in our family that Christmas is a tradition, even if beliefs are different. It’s just that I wasn’t in a position to have reason to celebrate after becoming an adult. Made bad choices in men. Loved my work, but the pay was—lacking though the rewards made up for it.”
“I see.” Lathen scrubbed a hand over his chin. “So things are going be a lot different for you, as well as Gwen this year.”
The warmth in his voice made her smile. Yes indeed, things would be different. “Yep.”

You know what goes great with a Christmas In July Celebration? A big bowl of chips and guacamole. What?! you don’t have a recipe for Guacamole? I got you covered.
Tena’s Guacamole Recipe
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bunch small green onion, chopped
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon cilantro
2 large or 4 small avocados
1 teaspoon salt
1 tomato, chopped
1 heaping tablespoon sour cream
Mix all ingredients together and put in blender until desired consistency is reached. Chill!
Serve cold with chips.
There you go. Sit relax and enjoy A Witch’s Holiday Wedding with a chilled bowl of Guacamole and chips and an icy cold beverage of your choice!

#MFRWHooks A Witch’s Holiday Wedding – 99 Cent Sale
For #MFRWhooks this week I’m still celebrating Christmas in July with 99 cent Sale on A WITCH’S HOLIDAY WEDDING! from the award winning A Witch’s Journey Series. I hope you bear with me for one more excerpt. A small town paranormal romance/mystery. It’s down to the wire, will the nosy McKay ghosts, Lathen’s werewolf pack, Pepper’s parents, and her best friend help or hinder the wedding and holiday plans? Then Lathen’s covert military mission threatens life as he knows it. Torn in too many directions will Pepper and Lathen make it to the altar?
Another aspect to this book and A WItch’s Journey Series is the disabled vets that Lathen mentors and assists in finding jobs to better their lives. Once a wounded vet himself, alienated and angry, Lathen met Pepper and learned the secrets the animals hold. They don’t judge. They listen. They are able see right into your soul and comfort. They know what you need, if you only listen. At least that’s the way I feel. Wildlife rescue and rehab is near and dear to my heart. Heck, rescue of any animal is high on my list. Recently, I read an fantastic article that confirmed my thoughts and believes in the relationship between human and parrots, another of my passions. The flurry of voices faded away as Pepper watched the ebb and flow of the negotiations between the two men, while the others in the room looked on. Was Lathen torn between his commitment to the Center and life as a SEAL? She needed him there—Until a few years ago, most of his adult life was spent in service to his country, a commitment he’d given freely until he’d sustained life altering injuries.
Was it possible to return to the SEALs? From what she’d heard and read, that wasn’t likely. So what did they want him to do? Or were they willing to make an exception? She couldn’t…wouldn’t think about that, she was overreacting. Despite her resolve, her thoughts kept swirling. Would taking this assignment require long absences from her—the Lobster Cove Wildlife Rehab & Rescue Center they built? That would never work. She needed him—the Center needed him. Alec and Mike the disabled vets they’d employed depended on him in more ways…
“Pepper…Pepper…” Lathen’s voice penetrated her thoughts. “What do you think?”
She blinked and peered up at him. “About what?” When she took a minute to clear her head, she glanced from his steeled expression to the Lt. Commander’s thunderous demeanor. There was really no other way to describe it. A storm raged beneath the commander’s attempt at a calm facade. Her lips twitched, he hadn’t expected this. Or had he?
