#L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 4-1-20. Favorite Books Series & Why

Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 4-1-20. Favorite Books Series and Why. I love series and that’s no April Fools’ joke. Getting to know the characters and their adventures, then enjoying an on going story with new characters is the best. Like welcoming home old friends. Please have a seat, grab a hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookie. Lets get started.,

First of all, I gave this quite a bit of thought. I enjoy several series for different reasons.  All paranormal because that’s the way I roll. So here’s my list in no particular order.  I’ll start with Molly Harper’s werewolf series. How to Flirt a Naked Werewolf, How to Run with a Naked Werewolf and The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf. I know you’ve heard me talk about them before, but they are feel good reads with lots of giggles you can’t beat in times like these.

Next would bet IIona Andrews – Kate Daniels Series. There are ten books in this series. I’ve listened to each one several times, yep, I love the audio books. Her characters (there are a lot of them) are bigger than life and complex. Their adventures are gut wrenching but some times laugh out loud too. An entertaining series to say the least.

Let’s talk about Deborah Harkness’  All Souls Trilogy.  A Discovery of Witches, Shadow of Night and Tree of Life. These books follow a witch and vampire through their courtship, timetravel to the 1590’s and back to present day. I was surprised that I enjoyed the historical aspect of Shadow of Night. Not really a historical buff but her vivid descriptions of the setting and the characters actions and reactions kept you turning pages and engaged. Again I’ve read this series several times.

Yep you guessed it, no series listing of mine would be complete without Nora Roberts. She has numerous series I’ve enjoyed but none more than the Cousins O’Dwyer Trilogy.  Dark Witch, Shadow Spell and Blood Magick. This is a paranormal series about witches and the trouble they get into. In true Robert’s fashion it’s lively, fun, dangerous and romantic. Not to mention lots of good old fashion magic, plus horses and falconry.  What more could you want.

How about the Harry Potter Series. I have these in hard back book, audio book and the movies. This series is another of my feel good series when things get rough. I along with my hubby been known to binge watch them all.

Now we go back a few years to The Dragon Riders of Pern Series by Anne McCaffery. On a beautiful world called Pern, an ancient way of life is about to come under attack. Can the Dragon Riders of Pern save their world and way of life? This is a fantastic Science Fiction Series I’ve enjoyed over and over.

While I could go on and on with series from Nora Roberts, J.D. Robb (finally started from the beginning and found I do enjoy the series) and many others.

I just can’t name favorite series with out mentioning my own award winning A DEMON’S WITCH SERIES.  Forgive me! This spicy romance series has it all intrigue, humor, thrills, danger and a splash of magic to keep you on the edge of your seat. So why not leave your ordinary world behind… be swept away into a magical romantic fantasy with a touch of mystery and suspense. Warning: You may never want to leave. LOL

So there you have it, Favorite Books Series and Why! I’d love to hear from you. What’s your favorite series? List them in the comments below.

Alas, I must return to my writing cave where deadlines loom on a new WIP (very exciting and coming along very well) so let’s see what other authors list as their Favorite Books Series. L&SR

#L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 2-12-20 Books I Reread or Want to Reread

Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 2-12-20 Books I Reread or Want to Reread.  Wow, there are quite a few, but I’ll narrow them down. Sit down, grab a hot chocolate and heart shaped red-frosted sugar cookie. Lets get started.,

Okay here is a list of Books I Reread or Want to Reread in no particular order. I know you’ll recognize the titles and authors from prior blogs, but they are my favorites. I re-listen to them since they are all on audiobook.

TroubleMaker by Linda Howard – The part-time police chief of a small West Virginian mountain town, Isabeau “Bo” Maran finally has her life figured out. She’s got friends, a dog, and a little money in the bank. Then Morgan Yancy shows up on her doorstep. Bo doesn’t need a mysterious man in her life—especially a troublemaker as enticing and secretive as Morgan.

The Witness by Nora Roberts –The mystery of Abigail Lowery and her sharp mind, secretive nature and unromantic viewpoint intrigues local police chief Brooks Gleason, on both a personal and professional level. And while he suspects that Abigail needs protection from something, Gleason is accustomed to two-bit troublemakers, not the powerful and dangerous men who are about to have him in their sights.

How to Flirt With A Naked Werewolf,   by Molly Harper.  If a wolf cries wolf, it makes sense to listen, yet Mo is convinced that Cooper is not the culprit. Except if he’s not responsible, then who is? And when a werewolf falls head over haunches in love with you, what are you supposed to do anyway? The rules of dating just got a whole lot more complicated. . . .

The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf by Molly Harper – Generations of werewolves have been secretly residing in a secluded valley a stone’s throw from Grundy, Alaska. So when a snooping Outsider comes to Grundy to investigate rumors of lycanthropic shenanigans in the area, the valley’s pack alpha, Maggie Graham, resolves to chase him away, even if doing so takes a quick bite on the butt. What a pity that researcher Nick Thatcher turns out to be so drool-worthy, and that his kisses make Maggie want to sit up and beg.

How to Run With A Naked Werewolf  by Molly Harper- On the run from an abusive relationship, she runs right into the arms of a protective werewolf. Life will never be the same.

The Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews (A ten book series).Mercenary Kate Daniels must risk all to protect everything she holds dear in this epic, can’t-miss entry in the thrilling #1 New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series.

I could go on and on, but the above will give you an idea of my preferences for books I reread. I like books with adventure, mystery and happily ever after.

Alas, I must return to my writing cave where deadlines loom, so let’s see what other authors list of Books to reread. L&SR

What are the books your reread or relisten to? Please list them in the comments.

Romance Authors – Favorites #L&SR #Wednesday Blog Challenge 7.10.19

Welcome to L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 7-10-19. My favorite Romance Authors.

Romance would not be what it is without NORA ROBERTS. She’s written over two hundred twenty-five Romances over the years. From Contemporary to Paranormal Romance she’s covered it all. I’d be amiss if I didn’t mention her alter ego JD Robb, who has more than a few books under her belt as well.  Yep, she can head hop with the best of them, but then… she’s Nora Roberts.

Another favorite Romance author of mine would be Molly Harper. Her snark and hilarious situations make her stand out from the crowd. I love her quick wit and wonderful characters.”Snarky romance with bite, is her own description.”  More than once, I’ve been red faced because I laughed out loud in a public place while reading her books.  I just hold up the book and say, you need to read this and return to reading. Yep, no shame! LOL

Because I don’t want to bore you with my long, long, long list of favorite Romance authors, I’ll end with Deborah Harkness and her Discovery of Witches. I love this series that has been turned into a TV series.  I’ve binge watched the entire series three times and read the books to many time to count. I can’t wait for season two to come out on TV.

Well there you have it. Favorite Authors in Romance Genre. These are just a few of the great authors writing Romance. I could go on and on, but, I need to get back to my WIP, so let’s see what the other authors in this blog challenge claim as their favorite Authors: L&SR

Characters I Never Want to Meet #L&SR #Wednesday Blog Challenge 4.10.19

Let me preface this topic with that fact that I have an over active imagination. Any television show I watch or book I read gets replayed over in my mind as I sleep. I tend to add my own circumstances I may have wondered about at the time of watching or reading. Consequently, I try to stay away from stimulus that will give me nightmares and cause me to leave every light on in the house all night.  Hubby complains about the light bill when this happens. LOL So….

That being said, my first choice for a character I never want to meet is:

***The Serial Killer in Stephen B. King’s Glimpse, Memoir of a Serial Killer –

In 1999 Australia, Sergeant Rick McCoy investigates the murder of a woman found packed inside a suitcase.

The Killer abducts another victim and threatens to dismember her slowly. His life is further complicated by a marriage in tatters. Frustrated at every turn, he is paired with glamorous Criminal Psychologist and profiler, Patricia Holmes.

While trying to rebuild his marriage, he finds himself in a desperate race against time to free the victim and fight his desire for his new partner.

***The second book in the series Glimpse, The Beautiful Deaths is ranked right up there with the first I would not want to meet the man responsible for the beautiful deaths.

Meanwhile, in the high-security wing of the mental health hospital, PPP plans his revenge on Rick. book. Don’t want to meet the man responsible for The Beautiful Deaths.

Read these well-written tales at your own risk! There you’ve been warned.

**I’d definitely not meet the Russian Mob Character, Alexi (I believe his name was) who catches Liz, a 16 year old girl’s attention in Nora Roberts book The Witness. He was a cold blooded killer and relentless. After twelve years, he still hunts her and finally… Well, you need to read the book to find out what happens. I did manage to finish this book without sky-rocketing the electric bill. LOL

There you have it, a few characters I would not want to meet. I’m interested to know some of the characters you wouldn’t want to meet. If you have a moment  list them in the comments!

These are a few of the characters I would never want to meet. Let’s see what other characters the other authors in this challenge would never want to meet, shall we? Click here: Long and Short Wednesday Blog Challenge. Have a great rest of your week.
